Basecamp – Our Lake District Accommodation

Holiday and short break accommodation is in a comfortable, well-appointed 19th century cottage and consists of a tasteful bedroom (available as a twin or double) with an en-suite bathroom (shower, hand basin and wc). You can also enjoy the comfortable lounge with its log-burning stove, access to the sunny garden patio or just sit in the kitchen and talk over a cup of tea. On our holidays and short breaks all meals are provided and a delicious homemade treat (perhaps a cake, scone or biscuits) greets you when you return from your walk. Packed lunches are included and we are happy to provide a flask with hot tea or coffee.

On our guided and self-guided walking holidays and short breaks transport to and from the walks is included. If you are travelling by public transport we also include pick-up and drop-off at Oxenholme railway station or Kendal coach station. Oxenholme lies on the Main West Coast Railway Line providing direct links to London, Glasgow, Manchester Airport and Windermere. Just let us know what time you will arrive.

Our Lake District accommodation is also available as a bed and breakfast – for details see below.

Accommodation in Natland, Kendal

A bright and airy bedroom, high quality zip and link pocket-sprung beds allow us to provide your Lake District accommodation with either a large and comfortable Super King bed or two extra long single beds. Larger than normal duvets allow you to snuggle down at night and our hypo-allergenic bedding helps ensure a comfortable and restful night’s sleep. A  spacious en-suite (with shower, toilet and hand basin) is accessed from the bedroom and plenty of hot water means no waiting for your turn after a day spent walking in the mountains.

A characterful lounge with a wood-burning stove provides a comfy room to sit and rest while a selection of books, guides and outdoor magazines are available for planning and inspiration. Hot water is always available for tea and coffee making which, if the weather allows, can be enjoyed in the garden.

We hope we have anticipated all your needs but if we have missed anything please just ask – we want you to have a great time in your home-from-home retreat and to keep coming back.
