Description

Introduction to Mountain Photography

This course is designed for those who are new to landscape photography or for “snappers” who want to leave the cameras automatic modes behind, take greater control of their picture taking and unleash their creativity.

This practical course, which takes place in the mountain environment, will consider:

  • The camera’s controls (aperture, speed, metering, ISO, white balance)
  • Composition – foreground, mid and far distance, framing the shot, rule of thirds, focal point, perspective, vanishing point, and use of colour
  • Equipment – filters (polarising, ND graduated), tripods and lenses
  • Getting the image you want, improving creativity and the importance of planning

This one day course will last approximately 7-8 hours and provide the understanding needed to boost your photography, develop your picture making skills and create eye-catching images.

The group size is deliberately kept small, maximum 3, so there will be plenty of 1 to 1 time and ample opportunity to ask questions.

All you need to bring is your camera (filters and tripod if you have them), food and a flask of hot drink.
