Description

The Lakeland 3000ers

The Lake District National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which includes 4 mountains over 3000ft – Skiddaw (3054ft/931m), Helvelyn (3117ft/950), Scafell (3162ft/964m) and Scafell Pike (3209ft/974m). These mountains known as the Lakeland 3000ers are often climbed as a 24 hour challenge. However, for those who want to travel at a more leisurely pace Threesixteen are now offering this magnificent mountain expedition as a 4 day wild camping trip, providing time to savour the stunning 360 degree views, glistening lakes, streams and waterfalls.

The walk will start and finish in Keswick and with the ever changing mountain architecture we will enjoy the rounded volcanic hills of the North Lakes and the rugged buttresses and outcrops of the volcanic Southern and Eastern Fells. After an awesome days walking we will find a quiet wild camp where we will rest, cook and enjoy solitude, sunsets and sunrises. If we are not too tired we may also marvel at the magnificent starlit night sky.

This is a demanding walk and for many walkers a testing challenge. However, your guide will set a comfortable and sustainable pace and will do everything he can to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience. This is a rewarding journey in its own right but also a great way to raise money for a charity close to your heart. Fitness is key to overcoming the physical and mental demands and to help you prepare for this grand endeavour and if you book our Lakeland 3000ers trip we will support your preparation by offering Base Camp Adventures and Wild Camping experiences at a 25% discount.
