They Said It Was Impossible is a series of Bible studies based upon Counties evangelist Clive Cornish’s inspirational adventures walking, climbing and marathon running with a 12×6 foot wooden cross. Stunning photography captures the excitement of these unique journeys while engaging narrative and relevant Bible passages develop themes inspired by real events.

They said it was impossible is series of four Bible studies. Study 2 is titled “What am I worth”. The Bible study is designed for individual and group use and can be downloaded to a computer, laptop, tablet or Smartphone.

The study is introduced by Clive through a video, followed by introductory questions, Bible passages and study questions which help explore the text. A final short video highlights relevant points, applies the lessons to life and draws the study to a conclusion. An accompanying booklet is also provided – if desired the booklet can be printed.

The multimedia studies were well received when employed in small church groups and a prison Bible study.

Description

22 When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. 23 They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life.” And the disciples were filled with grief.

Matthew 17:22-23

Clive was born in to a poor family in the wrong part of town. His mother, brother and sister all had physical and psychological health issues, and his father who should have been there to love and support him walked out of his life when he was just three years old.

Clive was never encouraged and even today, 30 years on, his voice strains and the tears fall as he recalls how family members and school teachers shouted “Clive you’re a waste of space!,” driving home the message that he would never amount to anything.

Quickly, Clive drifted into solvent, alcohol and drug abuse and inevitably trouble with the law soon followed. This damaged young man was lost in a world of anger and loneliness and his future looked bleak. At 14 years, in a desperate cry for help, Clive tried to end his own life……..

In this study Clive discusses his past, his childhood and its impact on his early years. We discover how God transformed Clive’s life and Clive found his true value in Jesus’ eyes. We read Matthew 17:22-27 when Jesus claims he is the Messiah, the Son of God; confirms his identity by demonstrating his control over creation and discusses the meaning of the Temple Tax. As we consider Matthew 17 we consider our value in God’s eyes, how this should define our self-worth and influence our own actions.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16
