Mountain Exploration

Threesixteen are able to provide a large range of guided overnight and multiday expeditions providing unique and exciting opportunities to explore Britain’s awesome and beautiful mountains. In the Lake District you could consider our two day options exploring the rugged and rocky Scafell Pike, Scafell and Great Gable; complete a well-known circuit such as the Mosedale, Deepdale, Coledale and Langdale Horseshoes or traverse the exquisite and exceptional Newland and Buttermere Rounds – all of which provide sustained and spectacular ridge walking.

Our Carneddau Explorer provides mountain walking in Snowdonia’s unknown wilderness, a range of remote mountains and a place of strange tales. As most walkers rush to the popular peaks of Snowdon and the Glyders our mountain adventure will escape the crowds and explore the highest area of land above 3000ft in England and Wales.

For those who want to explore more and go further we provide several longer expeditions and challenges – enjoy several days completing the Lakeland 3000ers, Welsh 3000ers, Brecon Beacons 10 Peaks or perhaps one of the Big 3 described below. For most expeditions we meet late afternoon/early evening, usually staying in a small B+B or comfortable hostel, before beginning our expedition in the morning. This provides an opportunity to review equipment, discuss the route, answer questions and get to know one another.

Mountain tents, sleeping mats, sleeping bags, stoves and mountain food are provided – although you are welcome to bring your own. A personal kit list will be provided after booking.

Young people under the age of 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
