Create and Escape Mountain Photography

When considering mountain photography and picture making it is very easy to get bogged down by the technical process, the desire to record sharp images and conform to the so called “rules of composition.” During this workshop the rules are forgotten and you are encouraged to think creatively, see the landscape in new ways and produce your own unique images.

Creative days will be spent walking in the mountains, discovering new landscapes and exploring the changing light, colour, shapes, patterns and movement to create dynamic and engaging pictures. To capture a specific effect we will examine exposure, review shutter speeds and aperture size and consider how selective focusing will allow us to isolate elements of the landscape. Perhaps we will expand our view with panoramas, pursue abstract attractions and introduce dynamic effects. We will take the opportunity to throw the rules away, have fun and develop our own unique view point.

The group size is deliberately kept small, maximum 3, to ensure you have plenty of 1 to 1 time and the opportunity to ask questions.

All you need to bring is your camera (filters and tripod if you have them), food and a flask of hot drink.
